The Korean Journal of Applied Biomechanics follows the recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in medical journals (ICMJE) (http://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf) and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/guidance).
Whenever it is recognized that a material inaccuracy, misleading statement, or misrepresentation has been published, it must be promptly and appropriately corrected. If, after appropriate investigation, an item is found to be a serious error or fraud, the paper should be retracted.
Corrections: Errors in published articles may be published in the form of a corrigendum or erratum if the Editor-in-Chief deems it appropriate to inform the journal's readers of the previous error and to correct the error in the published article. A corrigendum or erratum appears as a new article in the journal and cites the originally published article.
Retraction: An article may be retracted when errors in the conduct, analysis, and/or reporting of the research compromise the integrity of the published work. Research can also be retracted for violations of publication or research ethics. The original article is marked as retracted, but the PDF version is still available to readers, and the retraction statement is linked in both directions to the originally published article. The retraction statement typically includes a statement of agreement or disagreement from the author.
How the Journal Handles Complaints and Appeals:
The policies of the Korean Journal of Applied Biomechanics are intended to protect the authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers of the journal. The Korean Journal of Applied Biomechanics follows the guidelines of the Committee of Publication Ethics, available at COPE.
Complaining and Appealing Parties:
Contributors, authors, reviewers, and readers are encouraged to report cases of falsification, forgery, plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, conflict of interest, ethical treatment of animals, informed consent, bias or unfair/unjustified competition, copyright, stolen data, defamation, and legal issues. Individuals or organizations wishing to report a case may contact us via email at kssb2023@naver.com. In the case of a complaint or appeal, specific data must be provided with answers to all factual questions (who, when, where, what, how, and why).
Who is responsible for resolving and handling complaints and appeals?: The editor, editorial board, or editorial bureau is responsible for this. Legal consultants or ethics editors may be available to assist in decision-making.
What are the consequences of the remedy?: Depends on the type or degree of misconduct. The outcome will be determined by the Ethics Committee of the Korean Journal of Applied Biomechanics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
